Yomei’s MAGIC DESK is an innovative interpretation of the classic bureau. In its closed state, this magical desk resembles a refined and elegant sideboard. Featuring precision-finished stainless steel hinges, the top of the desk can be folded out to extend the writing area from 43 to 62 cm (height 73 cm) and reveal the sophisticated interior of the MAGIC DESK: two leather drawers, three electrical sockets and a cable trough for organizing this home office with a twist. The cables run invisibly within the high quality, polished stainless steel frame. The MAGIC DESK concept recently received the red dot design award for its finely crafted functionality and sophisticated design quality. The MAGIC DESK is available in numerous other high quality versions: high gloss and matt lacquered finishes in each 7 different colors. Further alternatives include 4 different veneers and 10 leather / microleather versions as well as in new “Pantex” surface. The frame and desk side can be ordered in a choice of highly polished or brushed polished stainless steel. Design by André Schelbach. Video magicdesk_2d.zip magicdesk_3d.zip
Yomei was established in 2006 by André Schelbach. He has been influenced by his practical work as a designer for the company s-designteam but has now developed his own personal style: a mix of artistic ambition and a healthy dose of pragmatism. The collection includes extraordinary pieces of functional furniture “Made in Germany”. The name Yomei comes from the Japanese and means “excellent”. Andre Schelbach lived in Japan for some time. As soon as you see Yomei furniture, you will immediately notice something special: fine contours, high quality materials, precise workmanship and intelligent designs that are often only revealed on second glance. Yomei stands for functionality in design. The young Yomei collection has already received an award for its unique combination of form and functionality. The versatile MAGIC DESK earned the coveted red dot design award in 2008.
